The JYRO Fabric Guide: J-ZP vs. L-ZP vs. S-PU

So what’s the difference?! The JYRO Fabric Guide covers all your needs, preferences, and obsessions. From buttery-smooth pack jobs to canopies that age like fine wine, this is your no-BS breakdown of our three main fabrics: J-ZP, L-ZP, and S-PU.

Because f&%$ one-size-fits-all.

We’re not here to hand you a parachute and say “good luck.” We’re here to give you the power to choose exactly how you want to fly, pack, and perform.

J-ZP: The New Standard in Zero-P

Kicking off the JYRO Fabric Guide is our flagship fabric: J-ZP.
J-ZP is our next-gen zero-porosity fabric. It packs like a dream. And it performs like a beast, day after day, jump after jump.

Developed over two years of testing, feedback, and way too many prototypes. J-ZP is the evolution of everything we’ve learned about what skydivers need from their fabric. It’s reliable, responsive, and feels damn good in your hands.

Skydiving + Science = A bunch of Chrisss and a French Brain Child.

WHY YOU WANT IT:

  • Built for consistency. When fabric stretches, flight performance shifts. Openings get weird. Landings loose precision. J-ZP’s tighter weave and low porosity hold form and deliver crisp, predictable performance even after hundreds of jumps.
  • Tough where it counts, light where it matters. High tensile strength = long canopy life, even if you’re beating the crap out of it every weekend.
  • Packs like a dream. No slip, no crunch—just that smooth, controlled fold that makes you feel like a packing god.
  • 13 colour options. From bold neons to classic tones, we’ve got you.

WHO IT’S FOR:

Intermediate to advanced skydivers who want a canopy that lasts, performs, and looks fresh AF, without compromising packability. Unlike standard ZP, which can soften or stretch with time and heavy use, J-ZP is made to maintain its integrity over hundreds—even thousands—of jumps. If you jump often, train hard, or just don’t want to replace your canopy at 1000 jumps, then J-ZP is your new best friend.

L-ZP — LIGHT AF, BUILT TO LAST

L-ZP = Low-Bulk Zero-Porosity, aka the ultralight, zero-BS fabric for people who pack smart. This isn’t some old-school relic—it’s 20-denier silicone-coated nylon engineered for max efficiency. What does that actually mean? Denier is the thickness of the fabric and the smaller the number, the thinner the fabric. Basically, low volume. The difference here is the silicone-coated nylon, giving the fabric a ‘tougher’ surface. High impact. All glide, no grind.

Want a tighter rig? Need your gear to fit in the damn suitcase? L-ZP’s your secret weapon.

WHY YOU WANT IT:

  • Packs like origami. Tighter rigs, easier travel, and easier pack jobs
  • Durable as hell. Unlike F-111, this slick white beauty holds up jump after jump.
  • True ZP performance. No shortcuts. Just light, fast, and built right.
  • Only comes in white. Like a fresh lab coat. Like a cloud. Like a damn legend.

WHO IT’S FOR:

Skydivers who want a sleek, compact setup that still brings the heat. Perfect for frequent travellers, small rigs, newer jumpers chasing comfort and confidence, or anyone sick of hauling bulk around. Big vibes in a smaller bag.

S-PU — SAIL FABRIC WITH ATTITUDE

S-PU isn’t here to be subtle. It’s 30-denier, double-coated, high-modulus madness—nylon layered up with silicone and polyurethane to deliver unmatched dimensional stability. It’s ideal for competition wings and hybrid canopy builds.

Yeah, it packs a bit bigger than J-ZP—but when you need power, structure, and max performance, S-PU delivers.

WHY YOU WANT IT:

  • Flies like it’s on rails. Stable. Solid. Doesn’t flinch under pressure.
  • Holds its shape like a blueprint. No sag, no stretch, no surprises.
  • Packs smaller than old-school sail. Because innovation matters.
  • Comes in 7 bold colours—from blackout stealth to full-send magenta.

WHO IT’S FOR:

You fly hard. You need your gear to hold up harder. If you’re in a competition rig, hyper-performance canopy, or high-output hybrid, this is your fabric. It’s muscle with a matte finish, and it’s got your back in every high-G turn.

STILL DECIDING? COMPARE THEM SIDE BY SIDE.

We lined up the key differences—durability, lifespan, pack volume—so you can pick your perfect fabric without the brain melt. We don’t use F-111—it’s an older, uncoated fabric that loses shape and performance fast. But it’s on the chart for reference, so you know what you’re not getting.

FUSING FABRICS FOR MAX PERFORMANCE

Some wings work best when we blend materials. Other wings fly better with a blend.

  • Kraken Low Bulk: Built with L-ZP in the body to keep pack volume low, and reinforced with J-ZP in high-stress zones for added strength and longevity.
  • Leia: Flies on a J-ZP skin, backed by S-PU internals for next-level structure and responsiveness.
  • Helium: Fully constructed from L-ZP—ultralight, smooth to pack, and perfect for travel, progression, or jumping a bigger wing in a smaller rig.

Each fabric has its own strength. When they team up, they level up performance without compromise.
